As planned for Thursday in Adventure Europe's Frederick Raynal week an interview with Frederick Raynal.
Some of the subjects of the interview are Fred's past games (Alone in the Dark and LBA) and a bit about his plans and views for the future. A big part of the interview is about how it all started with Alone in the Dark, where he got the ideas and how he worked it out.
Oh, and Fred didn't like the Alone in the Dark movie either.

Michel Ancel (Rayman, Beyond Good & Evil), Frederick Raynal (LBA, Alone in the Dark) and Shigeru Miyamoto (Mario Bros.) will be knighted the Order of Arts and Letters in France (2).
This is the first time ever game designers receive a knighthood. Apperently French knights do not get the right to right to add "Sir" to their name. So it's not "Sir Frederick Raynal" but still a great honor for these three people.

Sébastien Viannay just released a new version of LbaWin.
Version 0.8.1 contains a lot of bugs fixes and a improved installer (made by me ).
It has been almost 3 years since the previous release. It's good to see this awesome project being back on track.
In case you don't know. LbaWin is a MS Windows port of LBA1 made by one of the original creators of the game. You still need a valid copy of LBA1\Relentless in order to play the game.
You can download the latest release here.
Note: you will first need to create an account in the bugtracker. If you have any issues with LbaWin please report them in the bugtracker and not on the MBN.

All 31 pages of the summer 1996 edition of PC Soluces are now online.

This edition contains a complete graphical walkthrough of LBA1. There's an overview image for almost every scene in the game.
It also has a short preview of LBA2.

(Yes, this news is somewhat old, but I think it should be bumped to the frontpage)
SpaceGuitarKid made a Damalalaï Puppet. The puppet is completely hand made using old clothes. And simply looks amazing.
A Damalalaï is one of the concept characters from LBA3 that have been introduced a little while ago.
Read the full details about this nice creation here.

After a couple of days of hard work it is finally finished.
The Magicball Network version 4 is now online
The previous version of MBN (the brown looking one) wasn't updated any more. The main reason was that the software wasn't finished and I didn't feel like finishing it.
With vBulletin version 3.5 it became easier to extend the forum software without needing to edit the original files (that would become an upgrade disaster). One of the many extentions written by users of vBulletin was a link with the Drupal CMS software.
In the last week I've been busy setting up the Drupal software, and writng needed extentions, and moving (most of) the old content of the MBN to the new site. And this is the result, MBN v4.
Because of the new CMS software it will be easier for me to add new content. And no, I'm not going to compete with Twinsen's Adventure.

A new story has been posted on the frontpage.
Quote:
Gamespot is one of the larger online game magazines. One of their signature features is the so called TenSpot. It's a list of the top 10 best entries of a certain subject, not always in order. The LBA games have been featured in a couple of these TenStops.

Yeah, actually I saw him pass by a while back. He was holding his guitar, heading for the cliffs. — LBA2 (#1253)
