Little Big Adventure 2 is 10 years old

(LBA2 Cover)
About 10 years ago Adeline Software completed the second game in the Little Big Adventure universe.
In LBA2, also known as Twinsen's Odyssey in other parts of the world, Twinsen sets out for a new adventure in which new visits a new planet and meets new people.
LBA2 was well received by the press, getting review scores around 90%.

As a birthday present the people of the Polish website Planeta Twinsun have released their LBA3 Trailer (note: this is of course a fan movie, and not an official trailer).
You can view the fan movie here on YouTube or download the movie here.
A couple of posters of this fan movie can be found in this thread.

MBN featured in a Daily Mail commercial.
By elmuerte at 2007-05-31 10:52

Over a month ago Lewi-G notified us that he put MBN logo on T-Shirt of virtual people in a commercial he was working on for work.
This commercial would be shown in the UK before Pirates of the Caribbean.
Now we finally have proof of a virtual person wearing an MBN T-Shirt. It is rather small, almost invisible on a normal screen, but you might notice it on a big movie screen (when you're using a microscope).
You can view the full advertisement here, you can't actually see the person with the T-Shirt in that video because of the low resolution. But attached to this thread you'll find some screencaps.

You can discuss this news item here.

About 9 months ago Kenobi_LJN showed us a Twinsen clay figure his girlfiend made for him.
Today Momiji was showing off her latest creation, another Twinsen sculpture.

The LOTR spoof trilogy is complete
By elmuerte at 2007-03-04 21:22
Today DarkOnister released the thrid and final part of this Lord of the Ring trailer spoofs. By using only footage from the movies and in-game action of LBA2 and the sound of the LOTR trailers he created very interesting spoofs.

Now with this behind us, can we expect more spoofs of other movies?

The Relentless Movie Project needs YOU!
By Lightwing at 2007-01-18 04:11
Calling all peeps at the MBN to join the Relentless Movie Project. We have recently established a fine list of tasks pertaining to the first five minutes of this animated feature. You can volunteer in a number of ways, ranging from character modeling to simply posting your feedback on the RMP forum. Here are, however, various Job openings.

Note: While we are aware that all of us are not getting paid to work on RMP, and that we have our own lives to manage (school, work, private life, etc...), we will ask for a small degree of dedication for the bigger tasks (like modeling Twinsen).

MBN Shop
By elmuerte at 2006-12-03 13:21
MBN Long Sleeve
Years ago there was in idea to open an MBN shop where you can buy MBN related merchandise. For a long time this didn't happen. But today it has finally become reality.
The MBN Shop has been opened. There's a wide collection of products available with various designs, including the MBN logo, the Magic Ball (as used by the MBN) and Sendell's Medallion.
From every purchase from the MBN shop an amouth goes to the MBN. This income, ofcourse, will be used to cover the costs of the MBN and help make improvements.

Attached to this post you find photos of one of the products I bought to test out the service. It takes a couple of days for the product to be made and a couple of more days for it to be delivered. I received my other within a week.

The Magic Ball and Sendell's Medallion designs are vector designs. The Logos are normal high quality images. The images will be printed on the shirt my means of digital transfer. Because of this these designs will only work on white shirts. The vector designs can be put on any product.
You can request a different product using the existing designs if you want, I'll try to add the product as soon as possible.

MBN is going to move within a week
By elmuerte at 2006-11-25 20:31
Or at least, that's the plan.
The MBN will move to it's real home: http://www.magicball.net
And the forum will be put at: http://forum.magicball.net
The reason for this is simple, I don't own the el-muerte.student.utwente.nl domain and in the "near" future I will move away from the university campus. So I have to move the MBN to a local that is under my control a long time before I lose control so that the internet can catch up.
The process of moving will probably take a couple of hours, during that time the MBN will be unavailable.

All links to the current MBN location will be redirected to the new location as long as possible.

Update! (2006-11-28 15:53) The move has been performed.
A couple of things still have to be fixed:
  • Restore the quotedb functionality
  • Fix character encoding of certain database tables (most importantly the game quotes)
  • Update forum posts to write the old url to the new one
